1. Pre-Service Preparation
   • Inspect vehicle for any signs of damage or wear

2. Gather Materials and Equipment
   • Oil drain pan
   • Socket wrench or ratchet
   • Oil filter wrench (if applicable)
   • New oil filter
   • Correct type and amount of motor oil
3. Drain the Old Oil
   • Locate the oil drain plug and position the oil drain pan underneath
   • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench or ratchet
   • Allow old oil to drain completely (note: this may take several minutes)
4. Replace the Oil Filter (if applicable)
   • Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the old filter
   • Install a new oil filter, hand tightening it in a clockwise direction
5. Add New Oil
   • Pour in the correct type and amount of motor oil using a pour spout or funnel
   • Refer to vehicle manufacturer's guidelines for oil capacity and type
6. Replace the Oil Drain Plug
   • Tighten the oil drain plug securely (do not overtighten)
7. Dispose of Used Oil and Filter
   • Properly dispose of used oil and filter in accordance with local regulations
8. Clean Up and Inspect
   • Clean any spills or drips from the work area
   • Inspect vehicle for any signs of leaks or damage
